A Night of Care

Tonight at the Hospice our nursing team are starting their night shift.

Our care at St Gemma’s is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Every day it costs £1,044 to care for one patient.

Tonight at the Winter Ball you can donate to our patient care right now.

Always Caring

We support each patient with outstanding care, from pain management and symptom control, to emotional and spiritual support. We understand that our patients are much more than their illness, and our care enables each person to live as well as they can for as long as possible.

On our in-patient unit this evening, we are not only supporting our patients, but their loved ones too. We are here to listen and support, answer the difficult questions or even just have a cup of tea with them, so no one is alone.

At any one time we have 22 patients in the Hospice and over 300 patients being cared for in their own homes.

We also provide bereavement support to loved ones, including specialist support for children through our young people’s service, helping them to cope with their grief.

I can never say thank you enough for the care they gave my mum. Those evenings at St Gemma’s made such a difference I didn’t have to be the carer anymore, it was just mum and me.
