Deborah’s Story
Deborah’s dad, James, received care from the St Gemma’s community team at home and was later cared for on the In-Patient Unit. Deborah shares her story:
“My dad sadly passed away in St Gemma’s in March 2019. He was everything to his family, he loved all of us, and was loved by everyone who knew him. He was the most wonderful caring man, always positive, happy and smiling, the sort of man, who lit up a room when he walked into it.
“Dad spent the last five days of his life in the hospice. I will always be eternally grateful for the wonderful care Dad received in his final days, every one of you are angels not only caring for Dad, but for us, his daughters too. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
“Dad was allowed to pass away with peace and dignity surrounded by his loving family. Thank you to each & everyone of you, St Gemma’s is the most wonderful place.”
