Summer Raffle 2023 - St Gemma's Hospice

Our Summer Raffle is now closed!

A big thank you to everyone who has bought a ticket. All of the money raised goes towards supporting patient care at the Hospice.

The draw took place on 7th September and the winning numbers are:

Every ticket makes a huge difference!

For every ticket you buy you are helping families like Alana’s, who’s mum Sue was cared for in our In-patient unit and community team. Alana has kindly shared her story with you, showing all the small things our healthcare team did which made a huge difference to her mum.

“Mum was in the hospice for her 69^th Birthday. She didn’t like big parties, as she didn’t like the fuss, but it was so important for us to celebrate her. She expected no one to turn up, but all the family was there and the conservatory was packed. The fantastic catering team even made mum a chocolate cake (her favourite). She couldn’t blow out the candles, so I gave her a little help, and she pretended to faint from her efforts. Despite being ill, mum’s sense of humour never faded! The day showed just how loved she was, and is such a wonderful memory to have.

Nothing was ever too much trouble for the nurses. From the video calls on their home visits to keep me involved, to the fish and chips and egg custard they got mum for tea the night before she died.

Mum loved the team who cared for her. We can never thank St Gemma’s enough.”
