Course Content
A reflective training session designed to support frontline professionals in understanding and managing the impact of working with illness, death, dying and loss.
This workshop is designed for health and social care professionals who regularly encounter illness, death, dying, and loss in their roles, whether through long-term client relationships or sudden and unexpected events. It focuses on understanding the cumulative impact of this work and developing both practical and organisational strategies to support staff wellbeing and sustainable practice. The session provides a supportive and reflective space to explore emotionally demanding work.
Topics covered include:
- The cumulative impact of working with illness, death, dying, and loss
- Different dimensions of grief
- Key models and theories of grief
- The role of self-awareness and self-care
- Individual and peer support strategies
- Organisational approaches that promote resilience and sustainable practice.
Eligibility Criteria
Frontline workers in health, housing, social care, drug and alcohol services, and third sector/charities working with people who are homeless, vulnerably housed, or facing multiple deprivation.
