Course Content

Spiritual care is about more than religion: it’s about meaning, connection, and compassion. This workshop will help you explore your own spirituality, understand the diverse spiritual needs of others, and provide sensitive, person-centred care.

What You’ll Learn:

  • What spirituality means in a health/social care context
  • The difference between spirituality and religion
  • How to recognise and respond to spiritual distress
  • The use of assessment tools to understand an individual’s spiritual needs
  • When and how to refer to chaplaincy or spiritual care teams
  • Awareness of your own spiritual beliefs and values.

Eligibility Criteria

This course is ideal for anyone working in health, social care, education, or community roles who would like to build their foundation knowledge and confidence within this area of practice. Suitable for both support staff and qualified professionals.
