Course Content
This session enhances confidence in supporting spiritual needs, explores inequities in palliative care, and shares best practices for building compassionate communities (Supportive, Assistive & Registration levels, NHSE 2025).
The session includes:
- Assessing and responding to a person’s spiritual needs
- Recognising spiritual distress and knowing when to refer onwards
- Awareness of own spirituality
- Understanding terminology linked to EDI
- Disadvantaged in dying and the potential barriers to receiving equitable end-of-life care
- Exploring how individuals and organisations address equity in end-of-life care
- Examples of best practice initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
This session is ideal for health and social care professionals who would like to gain a core understanding build their confidence in these areas of practice.
