Our 2024 – 2028 strategy outlines the ambitions, and provides a clear strategic direction, for St Gemma’s Academic Unit of Palliative Care.
A Centre of Excellence
The AUPC is a centre of excellence for palliative & end of life research, education, and application into practice.
The purpose of the strategy is to outline and propose a vision and direction of travel for the AUPC and to define a set of strategic objectives over the next four years.

A shared strategic direction
This strategy dovetails with the overall Hospice Strategy 2018-28 and its pillars of Impact, Connect and Extend.

AUPC Strategic Objectives:
Expand and modernise Communication Skills Training
Commercialise targeted areas of training
Review and develop the education infrastructure and environment
Build research capacity, capability and delivery at the Hospice
Develop the Hospice as a research hub for a network of research active units
Strengthen engagement, culture and clinical utility of evidence based practice
Integrate evidence based practice with education and quality improvement
Create a sustainable model of collaborative partnership between the Hospice and the University of Leeds

Our skilled and knowledgeable team drives the continued success and development of AUPC.
