Collections will take place on weekdays between Thursday 7th and Friday 15th January 2027.
Please leave your tree in an easily accessible location outside your property, ideally somewhere that is clearly visible to our collection team. We will provide further instructions when you book.
No. You don’t need to be at home. Simply make sure your tree is left in the agreed collection location and is accessible to our volunteers.
We can collect real Christmas trees. Unfortunately, we cannot collect artificial trees or other garden waste.
Yes please! Remove all decorations, lights, tinsel, tree stands and pots before leaving your tree out for collection. This allows our volunteers to safely handle and recycle it.
Your tree will be collected by our amazing team of volunteers and taken to a local collection point. The trees will then be chipped and recycled, helping to reduce waste while raising money for St Gemma’s Hospice.
We ask for a donation when you book your collection. Every donation, whatever the amount, makes a difference and helps us provide vital care and support to local people and their families.
- £15 could provide 3 memory boxes for bereaved children. They can store sentimental trinkets inside to help them cope with their loss
- £20 would pay for a chef to bake and decorate a beautiful cake for a special occasion, creating a precious memory for a patient and their loved ones
- £25 provides expert telephone advice and support to a patient at home
- £50 pays for an hour of expert end-of-life care
Yes! If you are a UK taxpayer and eligible for Gift Aid, you can Gift Aid your donation. This allows St Gemma’s to claim an additional 25p for every £1 you donate, at no extra cost to you. For example, a £20 donation could be worth £25 to St Gemma’s.
Absolutely! If you would like to make an additional donation when booking, we would be incredibly grateful. Every extra donation helps us continue providing our services completely free of charge to patients and families who need them.
Yes, you can book multiple trees if required. Please make sure we have the correct number of trees when completing your booking.
Treecycle collections are limited to the postcodes included in our collection routes.
Our routes are carefully planned in advance, so we may not be able to accept late bookings. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
Our volunteers will do their best to complete collections safely. In the event of severe weather or circumstances outside our control, we may need to make changes to collection arrangements. We will contact you if your collection is affected.
Your Treecycle donation helps St Gemma’s Hospice continue providing expert care and support to local people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and carers. St Gemma’s provides its care services completely free of charge.
