Queen’s Nurses serve as leaders and role models in community nursing, delivering high quality healthcare across the country.
We’re delighted to share that Nicky Hibbert, Nurse Consultant, has been awarded the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse (QN) by the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN).
The Queen’s Nurse title recognises a commitment to high standards of patient care, learning and leadership in community nursing. It is not an award for past service, but a mark of professional excellence and ongoing development.
Nurses who hold the title become part of a national network, with access to workshops, bursaries and opportunities to share learning and best practice.
Steph Lawrence MBE, Chief Executive of the QICN, said: “Queen’s Nurses serve as leaders and role models in community nursing, delivering high quality healthcare across the country. The application process is rigorous and reflects a clear commitment to improving care for patients, families and carers.”
The title is open to experienced community nurses and includes feedback from managers and patients as part of the assessment process. As one example of Nicky’s exemplary work, she leads and was key in establishing our Inclusion Service which supports patients in the community who are vulnerably housed or experiencing homelessness.
I feel incredibly privileged to receive this recognition and to work alongside such a skilled and compassionate team.
Nicky said: “I feel incredibly privileged to receive this recognition and to work alongside such a skilled and compassionate team. Everything we do is about providing the best possible care for patients and families, and I’m proud to be part of that.”
Congratulations to Nicky on this well-deserved recognition, a fantastic achievement and a real credit to St Gemma’s.
