We accept donated items in all of our 26 charity shops. Please note that we can only accept furniture in our Halton Emporium, Chapel Allerton Furniture, Bramley and Meanwood shops.
Please note that we can only accept items during opening hours and that items should not be left outside a closed shop.
All of our St Gemma’s charity shops can accept unwanted men’s, women’s and children’s clothes, shoes, handbags, toys, games, books, music, bric-a-brac and electrical items (not large white goods).
Our Halton Emporium, Chapel Allerton Furniture and Meanwood shops accept furniture donations. Soft furnishings, such as sofas and armchairs, must have fire safety labels.
We ask that items are in clean, resalable condition. Please carefully wrap any sharp items for our team’s safety.
Donations can only be made during our opening hours and should NOT be left outside our shops when we are closed. Leaving donations outside of our shops is classed as fly tipping and therefore is illegal. We ask that you keep your kind donations at home until our shops are open and when we will be very grateful to receive them. You can view our opening hours via our shop finder above.
Yes, we offer a free collection service for donations to our charity shops in Leeds and may be able to collect items of furniture and other large donations from your home. Please fill in our form or contact us on 0113 2557552 to request a home collection.
Home collections are available Monday to Friday. Our St Gemma’s drivers drive clearly marked St Gemma’s Hospice white vans with our green and purple logo. All of our drivers wear official St Gemma’s Hospice badges.
The majority of our shops are open 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday. Some shops also open on Sundays. Please use our shop finder to view the opening hours for a specific shop.
Our shops are usually closed on Bank Holidays; please check our social media channels for the latest information.
That’s great you’d like to join our family of volunteers! To start your volunteering journey, please get in touch using the best method for you:
Stock in our shops changes daily so we are unable to check stock centrally. If you have a question about a particular item or type of item, please contact the individual shop directly. You can find the phone numbers via our shop finder above.
Gift Aid allows us claim an extra 25% from HMRC when we sell goods you have donated to our shops. £10 raised becomes £12.50 – that means more money to fund patient care at no cost to you.
If you are a UK tax payer, you can sign up to Gift Aid by filling in a form next time you visit a St Gemma’s shop.
