A Message from Sister Therese
Sr Therese O’Regan, who is a member of the Sisters of the Cross and Passion and a trustee at St Gemma’s Hospice, has shared this kind message.
The Sisters of the Cross and Passion founded St Gemma’s Hospice back in 1978, after recognising the need for better end-of-life care in Leeds. The Sisters continue to be a source of inspiration and guidance for the Hospice.
“On behalf of the Cross and Passion Sisters, I would like to express our very deep appreciation and gratitude for you and your staff and volunteers and everybody who is working at St Gemma’s in this crisis.
It’s a time you are showing the ethos of compassion and love. And we are incredibly proud of you. Only god can reward each one of you for what you are doing.
I pray, and I know the Sisters will be praying, that you will be kept safe from the virus – you and your families.
And I know that the work of St Gemma’s is just so good at this moment in time.
The people of Leeds won’t forget what you have done for them at this moment in time. And we are so grateful for all you are doing.
We know St Gemma’s is so safe in your hands and it is carrying out the ethos of compassion and love for those most in need.
God bless you all. I am grateful to each one of you.”
