Leeds City Council (LCC) An Introduction to End of Life Care Study Day

Course Content

This classroom-based study day is aimed at social care staff who have not previously received training related to end of life care.

The session will provide an introduction to the key principles of supporting people living towards the end of their life, including those with long-term or terminal conditions.

Topics covered in this session include:

  • What your role is and working collaboratively with other professionals involved in the person’s end of life care
  • Supporting people to plan ahead for their future health and social care needs
  • Skills to enhance effective and sensitive communication
  • How to support the dying person and their family in their last days of life
  • Your own needs and self-care.

Eligibility Criteria

For staff working within Leeds City Council.

How to Book a Place

Places for all sessions can be booked on the Leeds City Council PAL system using the LCC PAL System.
