Remember your loved ones this winter
Every year we take a moment to remember our loved ones together, to celebrate those people who remain truly special to us and who will never be forgotten.
As part of Light up a Life, we are inviting you to dedicate a light on our trees to your loved ones, whilst helping us to continue our care for other families whose loved ones are being supported by St Gemma’s.
How to make your dedication
Dedicating a light on our trees to your loved ones is simple, and you can remember as many loved ones as you wish to.
Once you have made your dedications, you will receive your dedication pack including a tribute card personalised with your loved ones’ names, and a card decoration to display at home.
Please make your dedications before 28th November to guarantee that they will be displayed on the Roll of Honour at our Hospice Light up a Life event.

We would like to invite you to join us to remember your loved ones, whether that is at home or at one of our Light up a Life events.
Light up a Life at St Gemma’s Hospice
St Gemma’s Hospice, 329 Harrogate Road, LS17 6QD
Join us for poems and songs, and be with us as we light up our fir trees at the Hospice Light up a Life service.
The service will take place outside in the Hospice car park and will last approximately 40 minutes. As the service is outdoors, please dress appropriately for cold weather.
Light up a Life at Immaculate Heart Church
Church of Immaculate Heart of Mary, 294 Harrogate Road, LS17 6LE
Join us for our Light up a Life service at our local church, Immaculate Heart. This service is open to anyone who wishes to attend and you will be invited to light a candle in memory of your loved ones.
Light up a Life online
Join us from the comfort of your own home to watch our St Gemma’s Hospice Light up a Life service. You can join us in remembering your loved ones, even if you can’t be with us at the Hospice. We will share a link for the live stream before the event.
Useful information
This is an outdoor event and will take place in the main car park, which is accessible off Moorland Drive. Parking will not be available in the grounds of the Hospice so please allow plenty of time to park in the local area.
As our ceremony takes place outside, please dress for the weather as it can get very cold.
There will be a few chairs available outside during the ceremony for those who are unable to stand. Please can we ask friends and family to stand if they can do so, as these seats are limited.
A welfare room indoors will be available for those in need.
Disabled toilets will be available.
A BSL interpreter will be in attendance during the service located by the stage and available to see on the live stream.
