Introducing our new garden development and water feature

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We’re delighted to introduce a lovely new space in the Hospice gardens, complete with a stunning water feature.

The area in front of the bandstand has been completely revamped to create a calming, tranquil and accessible space, where patients and families can sit and enjoy watching the fountain babbling away.

It was previously an alpine area which wasn’t used very much. To improve the area, we decided to give it more seating, accessibility and a peaceful water feature – transforming it into an oasis of calm away from the outside world. There are raised flower beds so patients in beds or wheelchairs can tend to gardening if they wish. The area can be accessed from both the In-Patient Unit and from our Out-Patients building.

Many volunteers have supported the project, led by stalwart volunteers Janet and David, who secured all the materials and labour from local company S9 Communications. A huge thank you to everyone involved. It is a really stunning addition to the gardens and will be enjoyed by patients, visitors and colleagues for many years to come.
