The spring/summer 2021 St Gemma’s Hospice newsletter has now landed!

Welcome to the latest edition of the St Gemma’s Hospice Newsletter! The past 12 months has brought many challenges, but thanks to you St Gemma’s has continued to provide care to hundreds of local people, and with your help, we will continue to be there for many more patients and families long into the future.

The way you stood by the Hospice in 2020 was absolutely incredible and allowed us to not only continue caring for local patients and families, but to adapt and improve many of our services. Perhaps the best way to appreciate the full impact of your support in the last year is to hear directly from the families you have helped through this difficult time.

Inside the newsletter, you’ll hear from Joanne, who sadly lost her husband Matthew just after Christmas. Prior to coming to St Gemma’s, Covid-19 restrictions meant Matthew’s journey with cancer had been difficult and lonely. Following his admission, the team on the Moors ward cared for Matthew and the whole family, making sure he could spend his final days with his loved ones.
