Pauline’s story
My husband had been having kidney dialysis for some time but unfortunately was becoming more ill. After being in hospital for over a month it was found that David also had different, untreatable, cancers. So, on the Thursday St Gemma’s fast tracked him and on the Friday he was admitted into the Hospice.
From the moment he arrived, nothing was too much for the caring and dedicated staff. He was able to talk to us for a little while but he slept peacefully. On the Sunday evening he finally watched, or listened to, his last Grand Prix.
We as a family were looked after too and luckily have been to a few of the fairs that had been arranged, getting some lovely bargains! I do the lottery too; I haven’t won yet but I live in hope! Thank you all for the care x
