Seated Exercise | A Physiotherapy led chair based exercise class for all levels and abilities. The class is fun, friendly and the exercises are easily adaptable to you. Each session lasts 1 hour, this includes: introductions, warm up, exercises, cool down and discussion. |
2nd Monday of the month

Guided Walking | Physiotherapy guided session. A relaxed, friendly and slow paced thirty minute walk starting and ending at St Gemma’s Hospice. Everyone is welcome but must be able to walk ten minutes continuously. | |

Balance Group | A physiotherapy led class to help your balance, co-ordination and confidence to exercise. | |

Bereavement café

This is a space for people who have had similar experiences to meet and support each other in a relaxed atmosphere. Those attending the group will have a link with St Gemma’s with their family member or friend having been cared for by one of our services in the last 2 years. |

Relaxation | During this session we will show different types of relaxation techniques, so you can find one or more that suits you. |

Mindfulness | Mindfulness is a self-help skill that can change the way we relate to our everyday experiences by learning to be more present. You will be guided through different meditations that you can practice at home and incorporate into your daily life and routine. | |

Yoga | Deep Rest session with Laura. Often including visualisations, stories, poetry and sound. Deep rest invites a greater sense of calm and easing. Please wear comfy clothing and bring a blanket and pillow if you can |

Tai Chi | Tai Chi is a sequence of slow flowing, continuous movements which relax, strengthen and energise the body while allowing the mind to rest, thus bringing about physical and mental wellbeing. Exercise will mainly be seated but can be advanced to standing for those that are comfortable. | |

Support and Talk | Book in to speak to staff for advice and information. Also an opportunity to speak to other patients.
Open to anyone with a life limiting condition living in east Leeds, their families or carers even if not known to St Gemma’s. |

Men’s Shed | We will be offering sessions covering woodworking / craft skills suitable for patients to use/improve the skills /capabilities to produce products they will enjoy creating. |

Gardening Group | Practical gardening activity, inside if poor weather or in our beautiful gardens if the weather is fair. Activities will involve light exercise only and should be a manageable for all. The team will be on hand to provide expertise and assistance as required. |
