Coronavirus: Weekly Team Update
Covid-19 Update
Posted on Wednesday 27th April 2022
Use of the Bistro:
- Visitors to the Hospice are now able to use the Bistro or conservatory, for drinks only. We will provide disposable cups, lids and trays as we are asking patients’ families and friends to take their drinks back onto the ward rather than stay in these areas
- As advised last week, kitchen and Bistro teams are currently providing a reduced service for patients and staff due to staff absences. You will be advised as soon as the full service is available.
Use of the garden and chapel:
- The garden is open for visitors to use, with no restriction on numbers. As access will be through the gate in the carpark, visits will need to be arranged with the main reception. This means that we are aware of who is on site and ensures that someone will be available to unlock the gate.
- We have also now agreed to allow visitors into the Chapel on request – again, visits (bookable time slots) are to be arranged with the staff on main reception.
Team risk assessments
- During the pandemic we have produced and revised risk assessments for each department or service. There will be some that are no longer required and can now be closed.
- Please let your HLT member know if you are closing the risk assessment for your department or service.
- We are awaiting the latest government/MHS infection prevention and control (IPC) guidance. Any risk assessment that specifically refers to IPC will still need to be updated based on this new guidance, and revised on a quarterly basis. Please update these risk assessments by 30 June.
Staff communications
- The next Question Time is on Monday 9 May at 3pm.
