Jean is a volunteer in our chain of charity shops and has also experienced St Gemma’s care after both her brother and her husband were cared for by the Hospice. Jean shares her story:
“Many years ago St Gemma’s took the fear from my brother and cared for him and the family with exceptional care. I decided then that I would volunteer for them.
“Then 10 years ago my husband needed their care when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Once again St Gemma’s looked after all the family, which can never be fully repaid.
“I have been a volunteer for fourteen years now and I hope I can continue for many more years. St Gemma’s makes everyone welcome and I feel the love every time I go to the Hospice.”
