The Secret Art Project Fundraiser Returns!
Shhhh it’s a secret…
Have you heard the news? The famous Secret Art Project is back for 2018!
Thank you to everyone who bid in the Secret Art Project; over 600 postcards went up for auction on Tuesday 23rd October, but who were the artists? View the full list of artworks and artists in the 2018 Secret Art Project.
In this year’s Secret Art Project you’ll have the chance to bid for a piece of art created by high profile celebrities including comedian John Bishop, Leeds’ very own The Kaiser Chiefs, Ricky Wilson, Simon Rix, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, Prime Minister Theresa May, Joel Dommett, Wolf Alice, The Vaccines, and many more! You will also find valuable pieces by famous artists including Ashley Jackson as well as upcoming talent.
The Secret Art Project is a fun and quirky way to help raise awareness and funds for the work of St Gemma’s, with 100% of the proceeds from the auction going towards patient care at the Hospice. Our last project, in 2014, received international media coverage and was a huge success with 400 postcards raising almost £30,000. This year is our 40th anniversary and we are hoping to raise £40,000 from the Secret Art Project.
The postcards will be auctioned via our St Gemma’s Hospice ebay shop from Tuesday 23rd October until Friday 2nd November. Once the bidding closes, the cards will be sent out to the winning bidders and the names will be revealed. Only time will tell whether you’ve found yourself a Cezanne or a sham!
You are welcome to preview the Secret Art Project postcards when they will be on display at the 40th Anniversary Arts festival, proudly supported by Progeny, alongside works from local artist and photographers on show and for sale, and the specially commissioned photography exhibition, the 40 Faces of St Gemma’s Hospice by Olivia Hemingway. The 40th Anniversary Arts Festival is open 24th – 27th October 10am until 6pm and Sunday 28th October 10am until 4pm at The Grammar School at Leeds in Alwoodley.
